Reflection 4 (Module 3: Skill building websites for Oral/ Aural skills and saving bookmarks)

 After taking this session, I have found some useful websites shared by my classmates. I hope to integrate these websites into my teaching in the future so that students can benefits from the what these websites offer.

Randall's Cyber Listening Lab :  Randall's Esl Cyber Listening Lab provide a wide range of free practice for learners at different levels. The activities of this websites focus on everyday English comprehension skills at three levels based on content, voices, vocabulary, and natural speed. A combination of adult, teenage and children's voices are included.  

Breaking News English: Breaking News English is a free site with ready-to-use ESL lesson plans, handouts, graded news articles at pre-intermediate and intermediate-plus, listening, online quizzes, podcasts and communicative activities. New lessons are posed every two days, and the lessons posted alternate between pre-intermediate and intermediate or advanced proficiency levels. The lessons are based on current news stories, which is definitely one of the bets features of the site. Every lesson can be completed online or downloaded in PDF format. 

VOA Learning English: This website provides abundant sources of news and information for English learners. By listening to the news, students have a chance to practice their listening skills and improve their pronunciation. The videos are categorized into three levels: Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced, so it is beneficial to every learner. Teachers and learners can make use of the website in doing listening-dictation activity or practice reading aloud the news.

Learn English (British Council): This website devoted to learning all aspects of English in which the listening and writing skills are integrated. Similar to the former website, the levels are divided into: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, and Upper-Intermediate. The tasks are topic-based which provides resources for teachers in designing the lesson.

Reflection 3 (Module 2: ABCD Learning Objectives Framework and Effective Web Searching)

Learning objectives can be identified as the goals that should be achieved by a student at the end of every lesson. The objectives of a lesson describe the base knowledge and skills that we want our students to learn from our lesson. One of the method to identify a lesson's learning objectives is ABCD method.  ABCD approach consists of four elements: A - B - C - D in which A (Audience) : Determine who will achieve the objectives B (Behaviour) : Use the action verbs from Bloom's taxonomy to write observable and measurable behaviour that shows mastery of the objectives. C (Condition) : If any, state the condition under which behaviour is to be performed D (Degree) : If possible, state the criterion for acceptable performance, speed, accuracy, quality Some web-searching tools that I find useful for my teaching are Slideshare and Giphy .
